Lighting the Way with Dots, Circles and Butterflies

Greetings!

This past weekend I attended a crafting retreat and enjoyed 3-1/2 days of making cards, making new connections, eating delicious food, and having time to put my feet up and relax whenever I chose.  I always come home from times like that feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.  I try and limit what I take with me and it's a great opportunity to use stamp sets in multiple ways.  

For this card I used a color combination that I'm quite sure I've never used before; Melon Mambo, Fresh Freesia and Crushed Curry.  I have to say I really enjoy how they look together and how the card turned out.  It's very simple with the message and images being in circles die cut using the Stylish Shapes dies, and the Lighting the Way stamp set includes three sizes of circles which provided the subtle and simple background.

The grasses and leafy stems in this set are small and delicate which is one of the things that really drew me to this set.  It makes it easy to cluster them as I've done here and they also work well as an accent to other images.  The Stylish Shapes dies provide a great variety of shapes in numerous sizes, making it an easy choice for both the sentiment and the images.

• Basic White cardstock
• 3-1/8 die cut circle 
• 1-3/4 die cut circle

• 5-1/2 x 1-5/8
• Fresh Freesia cardstock

Ink small, medium and large dot stamps with VersaMark, stamp randomly onto Crushed Curry card front, re-inking each time.  Adhere Melon Mambo cardstock with bottom edge 1" above bottom edge of card front, adhere Fresh Freesia cardstock strip on Melon Mambo strip with bottom edge 1/4" above bottom edge of Melon Mambo strip.

Ink stamp with 2 large leaves with Crushed Curry, stamp onto large Basic White circle.  Ink tall multiple branch leafy stalk with Melon Mambo, stamp partially overlapping Crushed Curry image.  Ink tall single stem leafy stalk with Fresh Freesia, stamp left of other two images.

Ink "You are..." with Melon Mambo and stamp onto small Basic White circle.

Adhere large circle near right side of card front, adhere smaller circle with Stampin' Dimensionals, overlapping lower left edge slightly.

Tie Gold Simply Elegant Trim into a bow, adhere to Melon Mambo stem with a mini glue dot.

Adhere small and large Brushed Brass Butterflies onto card.
