Lighting the Way Firefly on Dainty Flowers

 Greetings!

Last evening was our DOStamperSTARS team zoom meeting which always ends with a Mystery Card Challenge.  For the challenge, we are given a list of supplies to gather prior to our meeting.  The supply list gives us all the measurements for the various layers, a suggestion of the size of sentiment and focal point stamps, but the rest is up to us.  Which colors, stamps, dies or punches we choose depends on what we each have.  When the time comes at the end of the meeting, the person bringing us the challenge walks us step by step through the assembly instructions. When we've all completed it according to the instructions given (and our interpretation of them), then we get to see the card that inspired the challenge.  At this point we share our cards.  It's so fun to see how each of us interpreted the instructions, which sets and colors and papers we used, and allows all of us to see a wonderful variety of  cards.  It's amazing how different they can all look, depending on colors, stamp sets and the orientation of the layout.

I chose to use the Lighting the Way stamp set along with the Dainty Flowers Designer Series Papers, and love the way it turned out.

Isn't it a great layout!  I would have never thought of having the two layers of DSP twisted like this,  having the bottom layer butted up against the edge of the white layer and trimming off the extended pieces on the top layer.  I love it!

The Lighting the Way stamp set has beautiful uplifting messages as well as these adorable fireflies, which are perfect, flitting around on this splattered watercolor paper.  It's just like you see them in nature, lighting up and bringing a little magic into the night.

I will miss the Dainty Flowers Designer Series Papers!  They are one of the items you can earn FREE during Sale-a-bration with a $50 order, and there's only a couple weeks left of this promotion.  You'll note when looking through my posts over the past few weeks, they make an appearance quite often . 😊  If you haven't gotten them yet, time is running out, so don't delay.  Add them into your cart so you can enjoy them way beyond the end of February.  They really are gorgeous!

Here's How It's Made:

Adhere Orchid Oasis cardstock panel to Starry Sky card front, centering.

Take the two pieces of Dainty Flowers DSP prints, lay them on top of one another, then give them a bit of a twist to offset them.  Lay them onto the Basic White cardstock panel, with the bottom print flush along left and top edges.  Adhere both panels.  The top panel will be extending off the left and top edges.  Trim off extending pieces.  Adhere Basic White panel to Orchid Oasis panel, centering.

Ink "Follow Your Dreams" with Starry Sky and stamp near left edge of Soft Sea Foam cardstock.  Adhere to card front so it lays across the printed layers, at center or just below center, leaving enough room to stamp the swoop of scattered fireflies.  Ink "swoop" stamp with Orchid Oasis and stamp onto splattered print DSP layer, below Soft Sea Foam strip.

Ink largest circle with Daffodil Delight, stamp off once, then stamp onto Basic White cardstock.  Ink largest firefly with Starry Sky and stamp so lower half is on top of stamped circle.  Die cut using Beautiful Shapes 1-1/2 diameter circle die, adhere using Stampin' Dimensionals.
