Graceful Tiles Birthday Wishes on Embossed Quatrefoil Tile with Nature's Prints

Greetings!

Do you challenge yourself to try new techniques, color combinations or layouts with your cards?  I sometimes find myself trying to make my cards according to someone else's design ideas, and then I catch myself and pull it back to what I want to try.

I had recently purchased the Quatrefoil Tiles embossing folder, and wanted to use it.  The design of it reminds me of the various stamps in the Graceful Tiles stamp set.  I find the birthday greeting in this  set to be especially lovely and chose it to be the focal point of the card.  What better way to do that than to frame it, pop it up with a shimmery ribbon, and add a little flora and fauna behind it, all against a gorgeous embossed background.

Isn't the Quatrefoil Tile embossed background lovely!  It's such a beautifully detailed embossing folder.  As you can see the birthday wish is really fantastic, and adding some fun elements of sparkle behind it give this card a unique flair.

The flower and the die cut greenery is from the Nature's Prints bundle, which I was late in getting, but have really enjoyed working with.  I do hope it carries over for another year so I can play with it even longer!

I feel as if we sometimes get caught up in the idea of reds and greens are Christmastime and reds and pinks for Valentine's Day, so now we're moving beyond both of those, and bringing the three colors together for a card that can be used any day of the year.

Here's How It's Made:
Emboss Sweet Sorbet cardstock panel with Quatrefoil Tile embossing folder.  Adhere to Sweet Sorbet card base front.

Ink "What a year..." with Sweet Sorbet and stamp near top edge of Blushing Bride cardstock piece.  Center in 2-3/8 x 1 Stitched Rectangle die, die cut.  Die cut 2-3/4 x 1-1/2 Stitched Rectangle from remaining Blushing Bride cardstock piece.  Apply adhesive to back of smaller rectangle, adhere Parakeet Party Metallic ribbon back and forth in a zigzag pattern ends extending approximately 1/2 on long edges.  When you are satisfied with ribbon placement, adhere small rectangle to larger rectangle with Stampin' Dimensionals.  (Ribbon will be between the rectangles)

Ink small flower stamp by pressing flowers only onto Sweet Sorbet ink pad.  Ink stem by pressing stem only onto Mossy Meadow ink pad, being careful not to get onto flowers.  Stamp onto Basic White cardstock.  Die cut with corresponding flower die.  Brush center of flower and base of flower bud with Wink of Stella.

Die cut 2 long leafy stem pieces from Pear Pizzazz cardstock, and 3 short plants from Mossy Meadow cardstock.

Apply adhesive to back of Blushing Bride stitched rectangle and position flowers and stems so flower and one long and short plant extend from top edge of rectangle near center and one long stem and two short plants extend from bottom edge of rectangle.  Adhere to card front just below center.
