Greetings!
Today's card features an easy way to have lots of dimension all on one layer! This technique is so simple and yet one that I forget about until I see it and think "oh yeah, I want to do that!" I decided it would be fun to make a card with a nod to a fresh fruity drink, which sounds yummy every now and then. The Nothing's Better Than stamp set has the perfect image as well as a fabulous array of messages to make your card say just the right thing!
Who do you know that could use a little card like this to put a smile on their face! We all know adulting is hard and what better way to send someone a little support than by acknowledging it with a bit of humor.
Doesn't it look like the paper is torn to reveal a piece of paper that fades from one color to the next? Actually, it's all on one layer, and the irregular shaped area is done my masking off above and below it, then using the Blending Brushes to color in the background. This makes it so easy to stamp on and give it dimension all one layer.

Here's How It's Made:
Using a couple scraps of Basic White cardstock that are at least 5-1/2" long and 1-1/2 " wide or more, tear of one long edge of each piece to create your border for masking. Place the Basic White cardstock panel onto your Stamparatus and place a strip with torn edge at top and bottom of panel. Hold in place with magnets, as shown here:
Rub a blending brush onto Pale Papaya ink pad to gather ink, then rub in circular motion along one edge of exposed layer of Basic White panel to color. When you are satisfied with the amount of color you have, use a second blending brush and rub onto Polished Pink ink pad, then rub in circular motion onto other half of exposed panel to fill. Remove torn masking pieces.
Ink drink glass outline with Pale Papaya and stamp three times in colored portion of Basic White panel, re-inking for each glass. Ink liquid fill stamp top portion with Pale Papaya by placing stamp at edge of ink pad and Polished Pink at bottom, lining it up with edge of Pale Papaya stamped edge, and stamp inside drink glass outline. Repeat for other two glasses. Ink orange slice fill with Pale Papaya and stamp. Ink umbrella fill with Pale Papaya and stamp. Ink little star stamp with Pale Papaya and stamp a few scattered between glasses on colored background. Clean. Ink star stamp with Polished Pink, stamp off once, then stamp on colored background, scattering between glasses.
Color in orange rinds with writing tip of Pumpkin Pie Stampin' Write Marker.
Ink "Today is a" with Pale Papaya and stamp near upper left edge of Basic White panel. Ink star stamp with Pale Papaya and stamp three stars to right of message, and one to the upper left. Ink "kind of day" with Polished Pink and stamp near lower right edge of Basic White panel. Ink star and stamp, scattering them around the message. Ink "Cocktails" by stamping part with Pale Papaya, other part with Polished Pink, then rubbing a bit of the ink off each end of word with thumb, and inking with opposite color, stamp at slight angle in lower left white space area.
Adhere stamped Basic White panel to Pale Papaya panel. Adhere Pale Papaya panel to folded Polished Pink card base on the folded part from 6-3/8 - 8-1/2 only, so that it will stand up as shown below:
Ink "because adulting is hard" with Polished Pink and stamp onto small Basic White piece. Adhere Basic White piece to Pale Papaya piece, center at bottom of inside of Polished Pink card base, and adhere using Stampin' Dimensionals, which gives the "edge" for the open card to rest against, creating the easel.
Adhere a 4-1/4 x 2-1/2 Basic White cardstock piece in the upper inside to write your message on.
Embellish by scattering Pale Papaya Fine Sparkle Adhesive Backed Gems around the word Cocktails.
