Greetings!
If you've fallen in love with the Happy Hedgehogs stamp set because of the adorable hedgehogs, I hope you've also taken notice of the cute bird that's part of this set too. If not, hopefully today's card will give you reason to give the bird a second look. The Rings of Love Designer Series Papers that are one of the items you can earn FREE through the end of August has the perfect print to accompany the little bird stamp, and here's what I came up with.
Isn't he cute! I watercolored the bird to closely resemble all the ones perched on the papers, so it's a little messy outside the lines, and that's okay :).
Gather Your Supplies:
- Happy Hedgehogs stamp set
- Soft Sea Foam cardstock
- card base 4-1/4 x 11 scored & folded at 5-1/2 OR 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 scored & folded at 4-1/4
- Night of Navy cardstock
- 4-1/8 x 1-5/8 (2)
- 4-1/8 x 1-7/8
- Watercolor Paper
- 2-3/4 x 2-3/4

Here's How It's Made:
Punch out Watercolor Paper with Decorative Circle Punch. Ink bird with Saddle Brown StazOn on upper part of circle. Clean stamp with StazOn cleaner right away. Your stamp will be stained.
Dip wet tip of Water Painter brush onto Mango Melody Pastel to gather color, brush onto scrap paper first to make sure the color is what you want, then fill in the belly of the bird and the flower. Ink second Water Painter brush with Night of Navy Pastel and color in the rest of the bird.
Ink "it's so nice..." with Night of Navy ink and stamp below bird.
NOTE: Make sure bird is dry before stamping sentiment so it doesn't blur the ink.
Adhere scattered bird DSP pieces to the two identical sized Night of Navy cardstock pieces. Adhere to top and bottom of card base front.
Adhere leafless tree DSP print to remaining Night of Navy cardstock piece. Wrap Soft Sea Foam ribbon around piece and tie into a knot. Tie Linen Thread into a bow around the knot. See picture above for positioning. Adhere to center of card base. Adhere completed bird on decorative circle punch with Stampin' Dimensionals.
