Hugs Prayers Love in a sweater

 Greetings!

Do you ever find one of those sentiments you reach for over and over again because it sums up so neatly what you need to say?  The sentiment "Hugs Prayers Love" from the Positive Thoughts stamp set is one of those for me.  The font is gorgeous and the sentiment encompasses so many different occasions.  You can use those three simple words to cover a thank you, sympathy, get well, congratulations, best wishes and more.

The Positive Thoughts stamp set is a beautiful assortment of images from nature and positive thoughts.  The coordinating Nature's Thoughts dies cut out many of the stamp images as well as a fantastic stitched rectangular frame, a beautiful decorative accent piece and more!  Notice the gorgeous feather; this is embossed as well as cut out in just one pass through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine!

 Who needs a hug today?

Just looking at this card feels like a hug!

The In Good Taste DSP  are the perfect papers to really establish the message of love and hugs for this card.  The feathers continue the message of soft, snuggly cuddles, especially with the Blushing Bride Twine bow.

Notice the textured strip of cardstock along the bottom edge?  I could tell you it was planned, but the truth is, I grabbed the piece of Gray Granite cardstock, cut it at 4-1/4, scored it and 5-1/2 and realized it was a  half inch short on one end so I found a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock to fill in the gap.  This is a great reminder for you to never look at a card design as a failure or mistake, but as an opportunity to expand your creativity 😄

Assembly Tips & Techniques:
  • The pink sweater knit tag is created by using the long edge of the Tailored Tag punch to create the banner effect.
  • *Stamping off simply means to ink your stamp and stamp onto your grid paper once or twice to remove some of the ink before stamping onto your cardstock.  This gives a lighter color to the ink.  This technique was used for the leaves behind the sentiment. Stamp the sentiment over background leaves stamp. Insert into punch, center image in opening and punch.
  • When using a darker color cardstock for your card base, cut a piece of white or vanilla to attach inside to make it easily visible for your handwritten note.
  • Tie twine around feather tips, tie into a bow, and adhere to card with a mini glue dot.
  • Run strip of adhesive along inside bottom edge of card front.  Place blushing bride textured cardstock strip on top of back bottom card base and fold card front down to attach.  This ensures perfect alignment of the bottom front piece.
