A Season's Blessing of Joy

 Greetings!

One of the first sets to go on my  "I gotta have this" list from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog was the Season's Blessings Bundle!  The die cut open weave basket was the clincher! Stamps with tall, leafy stems and flowers that can be interpreted as Poinsettias made this a great set to envision for adorable Christmas cards.  With the holidays fast approaching it was time to pull out this bundle and start creating.

It took a few tries and here's what emerged.

A Velvety Soft Holiday Wish

The Snowy White Velvet Sheets provide a lovely soft texture to the flowers and Soft Succulent Shimmer Vellum gives a subtle sparkle to the backdrop for the bouquet.

Here's How It's Made:
Adhere Painted Christmas DSP leafy print onto card base front.
Ink Poinsettia stamp with Petal Pink ink, stamping off once, then stamping onto Snowy White Velvet.  Repeat once with large flower, and stamp one small flower. Die cut flowers - see note for die cutting.
When die cutting the velvet paper, position top plate over the area you are cutting only.  Positioning the plate over other parts of the velvet sheet results in the velvet being crushed down.
Ink leafy stems with Mint Macaron, stamping off once, then stamping onto Mint Macaron cardstock. Die cut.
Stamping off is a technique in which you stamp onto grid paper once or twice before stamping onto cardstock.  This gives a softer color to your image.
Die cut bottom of open weave basket in Crumb Cake cardstock (die will be larger than cardstock piece)
Die cut Soft Succulent Shimmer Vellum using decorative edged rectangle die from Nature's Thoughts dies.
Position basket near bottom of vellum rectangle, position and adhere flowers as shown with mini glue dots.  Layer and adhere onto Basic White and Blushing Bride. Adhere to card front.
Select the message from the Christmas to Remember stamp set that starts with "Love & Joy...".  Using Mint Macaron, ink the word "Joy" only and stamp onto small square of Basic White cardstock, cut to 7/8" x 7/8".  Layer onto a 1" x 1" square of Blushing Bride cardstock.  Adhere to card front.
Tie silver trim into small bow, adhere to basket using mini glue dot.  Embellish center of large flowers with three silver Metallic Pearls, and one pearl for center of small flower using the Take Your Pick Tool.
The Take Your Pick Tool makes attaching small pieces easy and precise.  Use the Putty Tip for easy grabbing and placement of small embellishments.
Here's what the inside looks like:

Ink message with Mint Macaron and stamp onto upper center of inside of card.

Cut a 1/2" x 4-1/4" strip of Soft Succulent Shimmer Vellum and adhere near bottom edge.  Cut a  3/4" x 4" strip of the leafy paper used on the front, adhere over vellum strip.
