Greetings!
The Jan-June 2021 mini catalog offers a fabulous variety of stamp sets, including the Snailed It bundle, which found a way to make snails adorable! Besides adorable snails, there is the cutest stamp featuring a little clump of mushrooms! The dies that are part of this bundle really step it up to another layer of cute! They include individual mushrooms, a wonderful pair of dies with a postage stamp type edge, a word bubble and little hearts, and the most adorable little envelope ever! So many cute options! There's definitely a whimsical feel to the entire suite of products!
For my card today, I really wanted to focus on the mushroom stamp as I knew it was the perfect size to fit inside the square die cut. Adding the hello at an angle in the upper left corner fits perfectly and the little ladybug trinket fits right in with these mushrooms!
Stampin' Blends are such a great way to color in images! They are alcohol-based markers that are sold in pairs - a light and a dark so you easily can achieve the shading you want. It's like coloring for dummies! Note the shading on the large mushroom's stem and cap. Start by coloring in the image in with the lighter marker, add shading with the darker marker, and then once again use the lighter marker to blend for subtle shading. It's so easy! For the tall mushroom cap I purposely left the lines more defined so you can see the difference between the light and dark shade.
The new Color Family Designer Series Paper Assortments have fantastic designs this year! The background of this card features one of the new designs in Basic Gray which is part of the Neutrals color assortment. Using a Designer Series Paper for your background is a great way to add color and dimension to your card.

- The Calypso Coral tag is created by using the long edge of the Tailored Tag punch to create the banner edge.
- When using 6 x 6 Designer Series Papers for a card front, the extra 3/4 x 4 piece is the perfect accent to use on the inside of the card. It gives the outside and inside continuity.
- Whenever you are using a darker-colored cardstock for your card base, it's always recommended to insert a piece of white or vanilla on the inside so your handwritten note is easily readable.
- I recommend the thick white cardstock when using the Stampin' Blends as it holds up better with the coloring without rippling.
