Greetings of the Season Holiday Wishes Card

Greetings!

Today's card came about from me challenging myself to use a couple prints from the Season of Green & Gold Designer Series Paper (DSP), adding a label from the Greetings of the Season bundle, and deciding I wanted a little splash of red to give it a more traditional holiday color scheme.

After deciding which prints to use, and adding in the little strip of Poppy Parade cardstock, it was time to add the main attraction.  A label with a warm holiday message along with a few accents is all that's needed when working with beautiful printed papers.  The Bough Punch provides a simple greenery accent as well as the little red buds tucked under a piece of Very Vanilla 3/4" Satin Ribbon for the perfect finishing touch.

Isn't it lovely!  The Greetings of the Season stamp set has some wonderful, large sentiments that are great, but I wanted to use the label with the notched out corners.  By inking just the top part of the sentiment stamp, it fits inside the label beautifully and leaves the rest of the sentiment to be stamped on the inside of the card.  That's one of the optimal benefits about Photopolymer stamps and clear blocks.  You can easily see to ink only what you want to ink on the stamp and see through to exactly where you want to position it onto your cardstock.

Having Photopolymer stamps for greetings takes the guesswork out of if you have it straight on the cardstock and if you have it inked solidly before the stamp touches the paper.  It definitely helps boost the confidence level of the stamper, and who doesn't love that! 😄

Winter Meadow Golden Greenery Greetings of the Season Card

Greetings!

I was so thrilled to see the Winter Meadow Designer Series Papers (DSP) carry over from last year.  This set of papers features beautiful watercolor prints with berries and greenery in a bit of a non-traditional color scheme.  I love branching out and using many color variations for my holiday cards, and this paper gave me a great base to work with.  I chose Moody Mauve and Misty Moonlight with accents in silver, giving a very cool feel to the card.

Isn't it lovely!  It has such a serene feel to it.  Both bundles are part of the Season of Green & Gold Suite, and as you can see, they work beautifully with other colors and papers besides green and gold.  The Greetings of the Season bundle has so many wonderful labels/tags to choose from with all different sizes and shapes, making them perfect for layering.  The Golden Greenery bundle has the image stamps and dies to coordinate.

For this card, I used the center of one of the Winter Meadow DSP prints, so there are only a few pine boughs and branches at either end of the print.  That's what makes DSP prints like this one so fun to work with.  Depending on which part of the print you use, you have a completely different look to the card, along with which components you use to create it.  If you've overlooked these papers, or certain prints in the pack, I encourage you to take them out and give them another look.  They are beautiful, rich and full of possibility.

Here's How It's Made:

Adhere DSP panel to Basic White Thick folded card front.

Die cut two each of large and small pine boughs from Misty Moonlight cardstock.  Die cut label from Moody Mauve cardstock.  Wrap Silver 1/8" trim around center of label, covering hole, adhere on backside.  Apply adhesive to back of label, position and adhere pine boughs, with two at lower right and two at upper left of label. (Make sure they are under the label far enough so they won't extend beyond the edges of the card when attached.)  Adhere to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Die cut oval label from Basic White cardstock.  Ink sentiment with Moody Mauve, stamp onto oval.  Ink small and large bell detail stamps with VersaMark, stamp onto Basic White cardstock.  Sprinkle Silver embossing powder onto stamped images, shake off excess, heat set* with Heat Tool, allow to cool, die cut.

*Heat embossing is magic!  Add embossing powder to wet ink or VersaMark™ inked images, apply heat from the heat tool until you see the powder liquify and turn into a solid enamel looking word or image.  It's the wow technique of stamping.

Adhere sentiment oval to center of Moody Mauve label with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Adhere bells together with mini glue dot at top, adhere to sentiment label, covering hole.  Add Stampin' Dimensional under body of bells to adhere to Moody Mauve label. Tie Silver 1/8" trim into small bow, adhere at top of bells with mini glue dot.

Embellish DSP print pine boughs with Basic Gray & Smoky Slate Pearls.
