Nature's Sweetness Wonderland Wishes Colored Hello Card

Greetings!

Today's card uses a color palette featured on page 51 in the Sep-Dec 2024 mini catalog called Wonderland Wishes.  The primary colors used are Mossy Meadow, Pecan Pie and Pretty In Pink.  I love the softness the Pretty In Pink gives this color trio, but I wanted to see what I could come up with other than copying the tree template shown.  While thinking of ideas,  I remembered the print from the Nature's Sweetness Designer Series Paper (DSP) that has large line images with a Pecan Pie circle, and thought, I can make this work.  Since the image is leaves and flowers, it was easy enough to pull the Pretty In Pink and Mossy Meadow and I added Old Olive to give a bit more color variation to the leaves.

I love how it all came together!  To add some texture, I die cut the little flowers, brushed color onto them in the two shades of Pretty In Pink, and layered them onto the center of the printed flowers.

Did you know you can color embellishments with the Stampin' Blends?  Since they are alcohol based, you can color any of the embellishments with them, and the color will stay, which is what I did to the little pearls in the center of each flower.

With the curvy flow of the print I wanted a sentiment that continued that feel, and the hello from the Flying By stamp set is perfect.  This stamp set is so cute!  It has fun images great for whimsical and childlike cards, as well as sentiments to suggest movement or flight.

As always, I hope this card has inspired you to look at a color combination and think how you can use it with what you have to work with in your inventory.  I'll be honest and say that this particular DSP print was not my favorite until I made this card.  It's funny how that works!

Autumn Leaves and Wild Wheat Regal Winter DSP Card

Greetings!

Today's card was inspired from a Mystery Card Challenge from our team meeting.  We are given the dimensions of the pieces we are to cut, a suggestion of a sentiment or stamp, and then we are given the instructions for assembly verbally during our zoom meeting.  At no time during this process do we see the card that the template is from until we are finished assembling it.  It's an interesting way to make a card, and I have to admit, it's sometimes difficult to know what stamp set, dies, papers and cardstock to use.  I'm very visual, so making something with no visual reference is a bit daunting.  I have to admit, I almost always love the finished result, and this one is a favorite for sure!

For this card I opted to use the Wild Wheat prints from the Regal Winter Designer Series Papers (DSP).  I wanted to give it a warm feel, so I used Very Vanilla for the panel and sentiment, and pulled the Pebbled Path and Gray Granite cardstocks for the mat layers and stamping.  These colors may look a bit odd together by themselves, but with the gorgeous floral print it pulls it all together beautifully.

Isn't it lovely!  I love using DSP prints on my cards, whether for a background, accent or focal point, and the Regal Winter DSP prints are so rich and beautiful!  The Very Vanilla cardstock gives Wild Wheat a bit of softness and warmth and makes it easier to blend all these colors together.

I've become a huge fan of the adhesive-backed Textured Dots.  They are so versatile, with a nice low profile, so they are ideal for embellishing and will easily make it through the mailing process without poking through the envelope.  They are kind of an oil rubbed bronze color, but it's amazing how many different color combinations they work with.  If you haven't given them a try yet, I encourage you to add them to your cart.  You'll find a variety of ways to use them, and with the low profile and small diameters, they add a nice subtle touch to your projects.
