Charming Sentiments Earthen Elegance and Meadow dies Birthday Card

Greetings!

Today's card went together super quickly for me!  I love when an idea takes shape and comes out as I envisioned without a lot of modifications.

I pulled out the Meadow dies, the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Papers (DSP), selected the navy colored prints and went to work.  Layering a small piece of the solid colored DSP over the diamond print was my start.  I knew I wanted to use the Meadow dies as they are perfect to combine for quick and easy plant accents. Keeping the colors of the cardstock neutral was my goal so I can have a birthday card ready to send to any of the male members of my family. Now to find the right birthday message.  The Charming Sentiments stamp set has a great message that is nice and linear so easy to stamp on a strip of cardstock, place over the stem area of the die cuts and still allow the contrasting DSP print and the Natural 1/4" Wavy trim to be seen.

Additional embellishments weren't really necessary but they always add such a nice touch.  The Classic Matte Dots were perfect because they're matte, so no shininess to pull away from the earthy feel of the card.

Here's How It's Made:

Adhere solid navy DSP print piece to navy diamond DSP panel 1-1/4" up from bottom edge.  Run a thin line of Multipurpose Liquid Glue at top and bottom edges of solid colored piece, and also about 5/8" up from bottom edge.  Press the three pieces of Natural  1/4" Wavy trim to each line of glue, as shown:

Cut off any trim extending over edges.  Adhere to Pebbled Path folded card front.

Die cut Very Vanilla cardstock with long, narrow single leaf die.  Die cut Crumb Cake cardstock with long narrow multi- small flower die.  Die cut Pebbled Path cardstock with full leafy branch die.

Layer the three die cuts with Crumb Cake on the bottom, Very Vanilla in the middle, and Pebbled Path on top, with stems together.  Wrap linen thread around stems and tie a not in ends.  Flip over and add a number of mini stampin' dimensionals to the back, trying to place them so they won't land on the trim strips (to keep them from raising too high off the card).

Adhere to left side of card front, making sure die cuts aren't extending above top of card base.

Ink "wishing you..." with Misty Moonlight, stamp onto Crumb Cake cardstock, centering.  Cut a 1/8" wide strip from one edge of the sheet of mini stampin' dimensionals, then cut into two short and two long pieces.  Adhere the two short pieces at top and bottom edge of left back side of sentiment, and longer pieces at top and bottom of right back side.  This will allow you to place the sentiment over the wavy trim, and also on either side of the stems of the die cuts.  Here's how I did my strips.

Embellish card with Basic Gray Classic Matte Dots.  There is one peaking under the linen thread to the right of the stems, two above sentiment, and two in upper left of Very Vanilla die cut.

Whenever a dark cardstock is used for the card base, it's nice to add a panel inside that is a lighter cardstock for ease of seeing the writing.

Here's what the inside looks like:

Ink "because you..." with Misty Moonlight, stamp in upper center of Crumb Cake cardstock panel.  Adhere to inside of card.  Adhere navy diamond DSP print near bottom of Crumb Cake panel.
