Beverly's Tip of the Day

When creating a card, save the scraps, as they may be just what you need for that extra little something.

I typically design the card first, then figure out where to put the message.  I was struggling with what to stamp the message on.  I tried a couple colors of cardstock with two or three colors of ink, and nothing seemed right.  I was looking at all the scraps of DSP laying on my crafting table, and saw the little cut off piece from the embossed layer.  It was laying upside down, and the color and little hints of white showing through on the embossed images adds just the right touch.  This piece along with a scrap of the softly colored print for the message pulls in another hue of blue to tie in with the frame and the ribbon.  Only the card base and the colored floral image are cardstock layers. Every other layer of this card is from the Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper (DSP).

Pop-Up Petals Friendship Pop-Up Card

Greetings!

Today's card features the Pop-Up Petals stamp & die bundle with a pop-up surprise on the inside.

Techniques include making a pop-up card feature, two-step stamping and coloring with Blender Pens.

==============================================================================

Beverly's Tip of the Day

When you need a little color to fill in part of an image, a quick and easy way to achieve that is with Blender Pens.  Blender Pens are clear markers that absorb the ink color of your choice, giving you an instant marker.

To ink your Blender Pen, first select the stamp pad of the color you want, squeeze the closed pad to transfer some ink from the ink pad to the under side of the lid.  Open the stamp pad, brush the tip of the blender pen into the ink on the lid, and you are now ready to color with it. When the ink begins to fade, simply collect more from the stamp pad lid and resume coloring.  When finished coloring, brush the tip onto a scratch paper until it runs clear.

The Blender Pens come in a three-pack with tips on both ends of the markers, so when you're using multiple colors, you can use a different tip for each color.  Even though the tips may stain a bit, once cleaned, they remain clear until you select your next ink color.
