Here's How It's Made:

Die cut plant from Highland Heather cardstock, and leafy branch from Lost Lagoon cardstock.

Adhere print 1 DSP panel to folded card front.   Adhere print 2 panel in lower right of card front, adhere Lost Lagoon cardstock onto print 2, adhere die cuts at left side of Lost Lagoon, extending above top edge.  Brush Light Highland Heather Stampin' Blend over "Get Well Soon" punch out to create colored background.  Adhere to Basic White cardstock, adhere to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals, with left edge at stems of die cuts.

Score DSP print 3 at 1, 2-1/2, 3-1/2 and 5 to create tissue box.  Cut a slit in center between 1 and 2-1/2 score lines.

Fold at score lines, apply adhesive to 1/2" flap and press to underside of opposite cut end to create box.

Making sure slit is at top, apply adhesive to bottom and back edges, adhere to inside of card so bottom of tissue box is on inside of card and back of tissue box is adhered to reverse of card front, making sure bottom corner of box is at center fold of card.

Cut a 3 x 3 piece of facial tissue, gently insert into slit in top of tissue box.  Punch out "sending hugs" from ephemera pack, layer onto Highland Heather cardstock, adhere below tissue box.

Embellish card front with Brushed Brass Butterflies

Turtle-y Cute Stairstep Birthday Fun Fold Card

Greetings!

Today's card features a print from the Turtle-y Cute Designer Series Paper (DSP) in a stairstep style fun fold.  The Right Words stamp set is used for the sentiment.

Techniques include embossing, die cutting and a fun fold.

Gather Your Supplies:

  • The Right Words stamp set
  • Gallery Blooms Dies
  • Basic White  cardstock
    • card base 7-3/4 x 5, scored at 2 & 4
    • 2-1/4 x 1/2
    • 5 x 3-3/4 cut diagonally lengthwise
  • Bubble Bath cardstock
    • 3-3/4 x 1 (2)
    • scraps for die cuts
  • Fresh Freesia cardstock
    • 2-3/4 x 1
  • Turtle-y Cute Designer Series Paper
    • 4 x 1(3) polka dots on white print
  • Fresh Freesia Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Soft Waves 3D embossing folder
  • Iridescent Faceted Gems
  • Stampin' Dimensionals
  • Paper Trimmer
  • Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine
=============================================================
Here's How It's Made:

Fold card base at 4" score line, then fold back on itself at 2" score line.

Emboss Basic White panel, adhere triangle to inside of card with long side at outer edge, and 3-3/4 edge at top.

Emboss all DSP and cardstock strips.  Adhere strips on front flap with full 3-3/4 long DSP strip at bottom, then cut Fresh Freesia 1/4" shorter, adhere directly above bottom DSP strip, repeat for three remaining pieces, cutting each one 1/4" shorter than previous, alternating cardstock and DSP.

Ink sentiment, stamp onto Basic White cardstock.  Die cut two small branches from Bubble Bath cardstock.  Adhere stems of each to back of sentiment strip, one at top left and other at bottom right, adhere to Fresh Freesia cardstock.

Adhere sentiment to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Embellish with Iridescent Foil Gems.

NOTE: You may adhere this to a 5-1/2 x 4-1/4 cardstock panel if you wish.  Also, the reverse side of the DSP strip extensions show when card is opened - they are a completely different set of colors, so I opted to cut small strips of Basic White cardstock to cover them up.

inkin' stars Everyday Happiness DSP Inspiration

Greetings!

Today's cards all feature prints from the Everyday Happiness Designer Series Paper (DSP).

I hosted a crafting retreat this past weekend and everyone received the same packet of 6 x 4 sheets of the prints in the Everyday Happiness DSP pack.  The challenge was to use at least two of the prints to create a card.  The prints could be cut down to whatever size needed and cardstock and stamp sets were the choice of each person.

There were a total of seven of us, four of which are members of my inkin' stars team, as well as my upline leader, Dawn Olchefske, and my good friend and customer Pam Johnson.  It is a four day event filled with friendship, inspiration, support, lots of great food, laughter, relaxation and more!

As I mentioned, we all had the same packet of DSP to use to come up with our card design.  The variety of creativity is astounding and each one is beautiful and inspiring.  Enjoy!

Pam found a beautiful way to use three prints to create a great background for showcasing her message.  A message in a large font like this works great and the background layout is timeless.  Notice how nice the two cardstock colors look when the DSP print does all the work of helping you pair colors you may not think to use together otherwise.

Nicole used a wonderful layout to showcase three prints and added texture by embossing the layers once assembled.  This is a great layout that can be used to feature various prints or stamped images.
The sweet sentiment anchors it all together, and a few well placed gems add additional texture and sparkle.

Angie opted for a fun fold which is a fantastic way to showcase multiple prints.  Her focal point on the front is a die cut from an ephemera pack, which is a great way to add a beautiful element to your card.  A sweet message stamped in the center of the circle is all that's needed to complete this beautiful card.

Diane added whimsy to her card by selecting these adorable dinosaurs from the Darling Dino's bundle to adorn her card.  By adding a panel of three strips on top of a background panel, she found a way to showcase four of the prints from the Everyday Happiness DSP pack.  She also embossed the panel for additional texture.

Diane had so much fun with the Darling Dino's bundle, she couldn't stop at just one!  She had plenty of pieces left of the Everyday Happiness prints to make yet another card that's just as adorable as the first one.  Her beautiful coloring on both of these cards is using the Stampin' Blends on images stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

Michelle made a stunning card featuring multiple torn edges exposing the print in the middle. This is called the Fault Line technique.  Adding embossing to the top layer, a die cut greeting and a fussy cut image from the print finishes this card beautifully.

Dawn made this fabulous card featuring this wonderful technique using various sized triangle pieces. It creates a gorgeous background to support a simple message layered on top of ribbon, a die cut feature and a punch layer.  Love it!  It's an eye catching design, and you get all the details on her blog

Finishing off the many ways to use the Everyday Happiness DSP, here's the card I made.  It uses four prints and the Textured Notes stamp set.  Go here for all the details.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing all the creative ways you can use a few prints for endless possibilities.

A crafting retreat is just one event throughout the year that gives us the time to focus on sharing ideas and expanding our knowledge of ways to craft and share.

I love being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. Having a team and being part of a team is what makes being a demonstrator so rewarding for me.  Creativity has always been a part of my life, and Stampin' Up! allows me the opportunity to have access to an entire store of products to feed my creative monster :), and share these resources with others.  Sharing that creativity and inspiration with others is such a joy, and the friendships that have developed because of this mutual love of paper crafting is priceless.
