Bloom Where You're Planted Holiday Wreath

Greetings!

This card came together when I was trying to figure out to make a wreath without buying one of the current holiday sets to get a wreath die. Then I remembered! The Painted Labels dies have the perfect die for the wreath! The die comes with a solid middle so the right sized circle from the Layering Circles dies cut the middle out leaving us with a beautiful wreath to work with.

The greeting in the Words of Cheer stamp set says "from my home" needed to say "from our home" so it required a little modification.  Luckily the word "Yours" has "Our" in the middle of it making it an easy fix.

The Bloom Where You're Planted Designer Series Papers were just the ticket to have this wreath look like it's hanging on a wall.

Isn't it fun!  Those papers are perfect, aren't they?  The pine boughs and stars come from the Christmas Cheer dies and are just the right size for the wreath!  It's so much fun when elements from sets come together to create the look you're hoping for.

Here's How It's Made:
Adhere wood plank print onto card base front at top, adhere branches print on bottom with top edge butting against bottom of wood plank print.  Adhere small brick strip over bottom edge of wood plank print.
Snip one edge of ribbon at an angle.  Position Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Ribbon with angled edge near bottom of Evening Evergreen cardstock strip.  Attach ribbon on front with a small piece of adhesive at near bottom angled edge and at top (there will be excess ribbon at top).  Fold excess ribbon over back of cardstock and secure with adhesive.  Adhere assembled piece to card front 1/2" from right edge of DSP.
Die cut wreath from Copper Foil Sheet.  Align Layering Circles die that fits in middle and die cut.  Die cut little stars from the Christmas Cheer dies out of copper circle that was cut out of middle of wreath.
Adhere wreath to upper left of card using Multipurpose liquid glue.  Die cut small pine bough pieces from Garden Green and Evening Evergreen scraps.  Adhere to wreath with Multipurpose liquid glue.  Adhere die cut stars with mini glue dots and attach Elegant Faceted Gems and Champagne Rhinestones to decorate wreath.
Multipurpose liquid glue dries tacky so use sparingly along edges.  When using on thin pieces it's best to dab small dots of glue along the back of piece, place onto card, and press.
The Take Your Pick Tool makes attaching small pieces easy and precise.  Use the Putty Tip for easy grabbing and placement of small embellishments.
The greeting in this set is modified from "From MY home..." to "From OUR home...".  To make this modification, ink and stamp the greeting in Evening Evergreen on Basic White cardstock.  Ink the bottom two lines of the greeting and stamp on a separate piece of Basic White cardstock.  Cut out the word MY from in between "from" and "home" leaving all the white space in between MY and the other words.  On the line below, cut the word OUR out of the middle of YOURS.  Run a bead of liquid glue over the middle line of your full greeting and carefully adhere the "From Our Home" into the middle of the greeting.  Attach it to the die cut label and adhere to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Here's what the inside looks like:

Cut woodgrain print 3-1/2" x 3" and adhere to inside of card.
Select sentiment and stamp onto Basic White cardstock piece, then cut down for small border.  I chose this sentiment from the Merry Snowflakes stamp set.
Die cut a few more pine boughs and adhere.

Season's Blessings Poinsettia Basket

Greetings!

Today's card featuring the Season's Blessings bundle started out as the flowers I stamped on Basic White cardstock and wasn't sure I liked.  So I put them and the leaves aside while I worked on other combinations.  Since I already had flowers and leaves stamped and die cut, I thought I'd play and see what I could come up with.

I have to say I love the finished result!  What's even more surprising is that there is no Designer Series Paper used which is highly unusual for me lately.  I wanted the basket of flowers to stand out from the background and after trying a few things settled on the Vellum cardstock. This lovely label shape from the Seasonal Labels dies was the perfect solution!  The combination of the Soft Succulent embossed layer over the Evening Evergreen card base is a beautiful background for this basket of Poinsettias.  These two colors are so gorgeous together!

Where did I get this "Merry Christmas"?  It's actually from two stamp sets.  The Merry comes from the Christmas to Remember stamp set and the Christmas comes from the Words of Cheer stamp set.  This is what happens when multiple Christmas/Holiday stamp sets are out at one time and I'm trying to find the greeting to accompany my image.  Do you ever do that?

Gather Your Supplies:
  • Season's Blessings Bundle (Save 10% when purchasing stamp set & dies with bundle item#)
  • Christmas To Remember Stamp Set
  • Words of Cheer Stamp Set
  • Evening Evergreen cardstock
    •  5-1/2" x 8-1/2" scored and folded at 4-1/4"
  • Soft Succulent cardstock
    • 5-1/4" x 4"
    • scrap for label
  • Vellum cardstock
    • 4-1/4" x 3-1/2"
  • Basic White cardstock
    • 4-1/4" x 5-1/5" (or scraps for all the die cut flowers, leaves and basket)
  • Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Evening Evergreen Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Crumb Cake Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Evening Evergreen 3/8" Open Weave Ribbon - 20"
  • Matte Decorative Dots

Here's How It's Made:
Emboss Soft Succulent cardstock panel with Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.  Wrap and tie Evening Evergreen ribbon into a bow around the panel, then adhere to card front.
Die cut Vellum cardstock with largest label die from Seasonal Labels dies.
Ink Poinsettia's with Cherry Cobbler, stamp off lightly and stamp onto Basic White (2 small and 1 large). Die cut.  Ink Leaves with Evening Evergreen and stamp onto Basic White (2 pair) and 1pr of rounded leaf stem.  Die cut.
Ink basket with Crumb Cake, stamp and die cut.
Position basket near bottom of vellum label.  Cut leaves apart to make positioning easier with flowers, overlapping as needed for finished bouquet look.  Adhere to vellum.  Position finished piece on left side of card front over ribbon.  Adhere using Stampin' Seal behind basket and flowers so adhesive isn't visible through vellum.
Ink "Merry" from Christmas to Remember set and stamp onto Soft Succulent.  Ink  "Christmas" from Words of Cheer set  and position below "Merry" and stamp.  Insert into Label Me Lovely Punch with greeting near top edge of scalloped part of punch.  Punch.  Insert again with scalloped edge matching scalloped edge of punch and punch again to get the small label.  Adhere using Stampin' Dimensionals.  See pics below (I used Basic White cardstock so it's easy to see)

Banner Year Pieced Painted Christmas Tree

Greetings!

What a fun sketch challenge this was!  I took me a couple tries to come up with the right sized tree but I am pleased with the result.

I used the Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper (DSP) for my tree and the Banner Year stamp set provided the perfect sized Christmas Wishes.

Gather Your Supplies:

  • Banner Year Stamp Set
  • Sahara Sand cardstock  -card base - 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" score and fold at 4-1/4"
  • Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper - 2" x 3-3/4" piece
  • Real Red cardstock - 3-7/8" x 4-7/8"
  • Soft Sea Foam cardstock - 3-3/4" x 4-3/4"
  • Garden Green cardstock - 2-1/4" x 4"
  • Evening Evergreen  - 1" x 4"
  • Basic White cardstock  - 1/2" x 3-1/2"
  • Real Red Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Simply Elegant Trim - Gold - 18" for tree wrap, 6" for bow
  • Wonderful Gems
  • Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder
  • Banners Pick a Punch
  • Multipurpose liquid glue
Here's How It's Made:
Emboss Soft Sea Foam panel with Painted Texture 3D embossing folder.  Adhere to Real Red panel. Adhere to card base. Adhere Evening Evergreen strip.
Apply adhesive to back of "tree".  Attach one end of Gold Simply Elegant trim to bottom back of tree and wrap around tree 5 or 6 times until you've reached the top.  Secure end at top back edge.  Tie 6" trim piece into bow.  Adhere to top of tree using mini glue dot.

To make tree mark center of one short edge of DSP and Garden Green cardstock.  Cut from opposite corners to center mark to form trees. Cut the Painted Christmas DSP "tree" at angles to form pieces as shown in picture.  Position onto Garden Green "tree".  Adhere using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Multipurpose liquid glue allows for movement before it dries making it a great choice when positioning multiple pieces. Multipurpose liquid glue dries tacky so use sparingly along edges.

Adhere tree on left side of center using Stampin' Dimensionals.
Ink "Christmas Wishes" with Real Red and stamp onto Basic White strip, centering.  Punch both ends with Banners Pick a Punch inverted triangle.  Adhere banner using two layers of Stampin' Dimensionals.

Adhere Wonderful Gems onto tree and below banner.
