Lighting the Way with Dots, Circles and Butterflies

Greetings!

This past weekend I attended a crafting retreat and enjoyed 3-1/2 days of making cards, making new connections, eating delicious food, and having time to put my feet up and relax whenever I chose.  I always come home from times like that feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.  I try and limit what I take with me and it's a great opportunity to use stamp sets in multiple ways.  

For this card I used a color combination that I'm quite sure I've never used before; Melon Mambo, Fresh Freesia and Crushed Curry.  I have to say I really enjoy how they look together and how the card turned out.  It's very simple with the message and images being in circles die cut using the Stylish Shapes dies, and the Lighting the Way stamp set includes three sizes of circles which provided the subtle and simple background.

The grasses and leafy stems in this set are small and delicate which is one of the things that really drew me to this set.  It makes it easy to cluster them as I've done here and they also work well as an accent to other images.  The Stylish Shapes dies provide a great variety of shapes in numerous sizes, making it an easy choice for both the sentiment and the images.

Ink small, medium and large dot stamps with VersaMark, stamp randomly onto Crushed Curry card front, re-inking each time.  Adhere Melon Mambo cardstock with bottom edge 1" above bottom edge of card front, adhere Fresh Freesia cardstock strip on Melon Mambo strip with bottom edge 1/4" above bottom edge of Melon Mambo strip.

Ink stamp with 2 large leaves with Crushed Curry, stamp onto large Basic White circle.  Ink tall multiple branch leafy stalk with Melon Mambo, stamp partially overlapping Crushed Curry image.  Ink tall single stem leafy stalk with Fresh Freesia, stamp left of other two images.

Ink "You are..." with Melon Mambo and stamp onto small Basic White circle.

Adhere large circle near right side of card front, adhere smaller circle with Stampin' Dimensionals, overlapping lower left edge slightly.

Tie Gold Simply Elegant Trim into a bow, adhere to Melon Mambo stem with a mini glue dot.

Adhere small and large Brushed Brass Butterflies onto card.

Sentimental Park Charming Sentiments with Stripes & Splatters Textures

 Greetings!

The Sentimental Park bundle is one I just keep finding yet another card design to share with you! 😄

For this card I pulled in the Charming Sentiments bundle, which is filled with fabulous messages and dies that cut out right around the messages, making it easy to fit them into your card design in a more subtle way, as you see with the "hey, there" message.  

Check out all the texture!  The Stripes & Splatters 3D embossing folders are such a great pair, and using both of them on this card adds a nice layer of whimsy.  Notice how the Gorgeous Grape strip has the stripes angled (something new I decided to do) and the great texture on the little pocket style planter is a stamp included in the Sentimental Park stamp set.  So fun!  

The Glossy Dots provide the perfect colors to embellish this card with and the nice smooth, low profile of them will still make it easy to mail.

Here's How It's Made:

Emboss Highland Heather cardstock with Splatter 3D embossing folder.  Emboss Daffodil Delight cardstock vertically with Stripes 3D embossing folder.  Place Gorgeous Grape cardstock at an angle in Stripes 3D embossing folder to emboss.  Adhere Highland Heather embossed cardstock to Thick Basic White folded card front, leaving 1/4" border on right side and top and bottom.  Adhere Gorgeous Grape cardstock piece, overlapping Highland Heather piece, leaving a 1/4" border at left edge.  Adhere embossed Daffodil Delight cardstock, centering.

Ink flower cluster fill stamp with Highland Heather, stamp onto Basic White cardstock.  Ink flower cluster outline stamp with Gorgeous Grape, align over stamped Highland Heather flowers, stamp.  Die cut.  Ink leaf fill stamp with Soft Sea Foam, stamp onto Basic White cardstock.  Ink detailed leaf outline stamp with Old Olive, align over stamped leaf fill, stamp.  Die cut.  Using smooth edged frame die, die cut Mossy Meadow cardstock to create "planter".  Ink hashmark stamp with Mossy Meadow, stamp, repeat until "planter is filled with texture. 

Ink "hey, there" with Gorgeous Grape, stamp onto Highland Heather cardstock.  Die cut.

Adhere flowers, stem and "planter" with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Adhere "hey, there" to right of flowers above leaf.  

Embellish with Glossy Dots.
