Color & Contour Nature's Harvest slimline card

 Greetings!

I am falling in love with the slimline card!  It opens the opportunity to showcase Designer Series Papers, embrace larger stamp images and still have room for embellishments and layers without feeling overcrowded.  This card size fits in a standard #10 envelope.

The Nature's Harvest Designer Series Paper from the current mini catalog is a beautiful variety of soft colors as well as strong fall/harvest tones, making it useful in many styles of creativity.  Today's card features a variety of techniques, textures and patterns, so hang on 😄.  

The Color & Contour stamp set has a beautiful assortment of sketched flowers and leaves which are great to use for watercolor techniques.  The splatters add a fun element to the background and helps tie it in nicely with the little branch print tucked behind it.

Here's How It's Made:

Ink splatter stamp with Crumb Cake and stamp diagonally on Shimmery White cardstock, stamping at least twice before re-inking, changing position of stamp each time so splatters don't look repetitive.  

Ink flower stamp with VersaMark Ink, stamp onto Shimmery White cardstock, sprinkle with White Stampin' Emboss Powder, shake off excess and heat set with Heat Tool.

Squeeze closed Misty Moonlight ink pad to transfer ink onto lid (or use a couple drops of re-inker onto lid).  Dip tip of medium Water Painter into ink, squeeze some water through tip to water it down, and lightly brush across Shimmery White cardstock over flower image. (Brush onto a scratch paper first to see depth of color and decide if you want it more watered down before brushing onto cardstock).  Repeat until you are satisfied with the watercolor wash.  Dry and flatten paper using the low setting on Heat Tool.  

Shimmery White cardstock is an alternative to Watercolor Paper.  It will not pill or shred as standard cardstock may when using watercolor techniques.

Tear off left long edge of Shimmery White cardstock so finished width is between 2-1/2 -2-3/4.

Emboss Crumb Cake cardstock strip with Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.

Ink "You're absolutely amazing" with VersaMark ink, stamp near bottom edge of Misty Moonlight print panel.  Sprinkle with emboss powder, shake off excess, heat set with Heat Tool.  Adhere  panel to card front.  

Tear left long edge of Crumb Cake branch print and adhere card front.  Adhere embossed Crumb Cake strip on right edge of branch print, adjusting so sides appear centered on card base.  Adhere completed image on card base, centered on Crumb Cake layers.

Adhere Diamond Weave Ribbon across stem of flower using Stampin' Seal+ or Tear & Tape adhesive, and zig zag end as shown in picture. 

Adhere Misty Moonlight small and large In Color Square Gems onto card.  

Here's what the inside looks like:

Cut Basic White cardstock 4-1/2 x 3.  Ink flower stamp with Crumb Cake, stamp a portion in lower right corner.  Use Water Painter to watercolor wash over image with Misty Moonlight, filling in flowers a bit extra.

Adhere Basic White onto  a 5 x 3-3/8 piece of Misty Moonlight print.  Adhere 1-1/8" down from top of inside of card.  

Cut a 1 x 3-3/8 strip of Crumb Cake branch print, adhere above Misty Moonlight print.  Cut a 2-1/8 x 3-3/8 piece of Crumb Cake branch print, adhere below Misty Moonlight print.

Here's How It's Made:

Score card front at 3-3/4 and fold back onto front.  Adhere folded flap down to card front.  Adhere Mossy Meadow print panel onto card front, centering side to side and top to bottom.

Ink "Through struggle..." with Polished Pink and stamp onto Basic White cardstock piece, positioning 1" down from top, with right edge of sentiment approx. 3/8" from right edge of cardstock.  Cut a sticky note to size of message and place over message.

Ink heart stamp with Mossy Meadow and stamp onto Basic White piece, positioning over sticky note so message will be above flower on right side of heart and below upper curved part of heart.

Remove sticky note.  Color flowers in using light and dark Polished Pink Stampin' Blends.  Color leaves in using light and dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends.

Adhere to Polished Pink cardstock.  Adhere assembled piece to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals, making sure adhesive does not extend beyond folded front.

Adhere Polished Pink chevron print to right edge of back card panel.

#DOswts377 Monochromatic Inspiration Hop: Holiday Greetings

 

Greetings!

Today's hop is pretty self explanatory.  Creating a card using variations of one color.  I love these challenges!  It's so fun to "hop" along and see the beautiful creations everyone shares.

Ever since this challenge was posted at the beginning of the month, I've been rolling ideas around in my head.  In the mean time, I've been making Christmas cards like crazy to mail out to everyone on my list.  Last night I finished them up, and was putting away my stamp sets and the bell rang loudly!  Ding ding ding.  How about making a tree out of various holiday greetings on shades of green!  Well, the creative juices started flowing, I decided which greetings made for a fun variety of fonts, sizes and messages, and started playing.  I slept on it, and woke up with even more inspiration, so got to work on it as soon as I finished breakfast.  Here is the result:

Believe it or not, all these messages come from only 3 stamp sets, one of which is bundled with the dies for the holly leaves and pine branches.  The greetings are all stamped first in VersaMark™ Ink with Pear Pizzazz and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder.  The tree needed a bit of decoration and the Metallic Pearls were just the ticket.

Here's How It's Made:

All stamps used are inked first with VersaMark, then Pear Pizzazz.  Stamp onto colored cardstock, sprinkle message with Clear Emboss Powder, shake off excess and set with Heat Tool.

Stamp "Joy" (Whimsical Trees) at top of Mossy Meadow cardstock and stamp "Happy" (Words of Cheer) near bottom.  

Stamp HOLIDAYS (Words of Cheer) at top of Pear Pizzazz cardstock, stamp "Let your heart..." (Whimsical Trees) in upper middle and stamp "merry everything" near bottom.

Stamp "Season's GREETINGS" onto Soft Sea Foam cardstock.

Adhere Old Olive Designer Series Paper panel to card base front.  Position the three stamped cardstock pieces and adhere, centering side to side.  

Adhere adhesive sheet to scraps of Mossy Meadow, Pear Pizzazz and Soft Sea Foam cardstock.  Die cut holly leaves and pine branches in all three colors.  Peel of adhesive backing and adhere to card as shown.  Die cut star from Gold Foil sheet.

Adhere Gold Metallic Pearls randomly to decorate tree.

Greetings!

Here's How It's Made:

Ink "sending" ONLY with Polished Pink, stamp onto upper left half of Basic White cardstock.  Clean off and dry stamp.  Ink "thanks" ONLY  with Polished Pink (wipe off any overage on other word or image) and stamp on lower right half, offsetting words as pictured.  Place piece into Paper Trimmer at an angle and cut, flip and line up angled edge on a line on the trimmer so your cut will be parallel, cut. 

Ink large flower with Polished Pink, stamp onto Basic White scrap.  Insert into punch and punch.  Ink smaller flower with Polished Pink, stamp onto Basic White scrap.  Insert into punch and punch.  

Ink large leaf with Mossy Meadow, stamp two on to basic white scraps, insert into punch and punch.  Repeat with small leaf.

Ink small flower row stamp with Polished Pink and stamp onto Basic White card base front.  Ink and repeat stamping randomly top to bottom and right to left until you have the background you want.  

Adhere Mossy Meadow dot print at an angle onto stamped card base, adhere Polished Pink chevron print at opposing angle.  Adhere "sending thanks" layer.  Adhere leaves using mini glue dots.  Adhere flower layers together using mini glue dot, and pop up from leaves with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Attach adhesive-backed sequins randomly around card front and on center of flower.
