Garden Birdhouses Birthday Wishes

Greetings!

What is it about birdhouses that is so dang adorable?  Is the the sweetness of us humans to provide a special shelter for them?  Do we do it for their sake, or so that we can watch them as they flit in and out, and raise their little tweet families in them?  Whatever the answer may be, the Garden Birdhouses stamp set was a must have on my list!  

The Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper (DSP) seemed the perfect compliment to go with these adorable birdhouses.  The papers are GORGEOUS!!!  They are beautiful watercolor prints of trees and leaves for all seasons and much, much more. The hardest part is deciding which paper to use!

The paper chosen for this card is so pretty with the colors in different intensities of Night of Navy, Merry Merlot and Soft Suede.  These were the perfect colors to inspire the entire card.

Naturally Beautiful Birthday Wishes

The speckled background paper was created by using a stamp from the Color & Contour stamp set.  This set had a stamp most closely resembling the speckles in the strip of DSP on this card.  To create the background, the stamp is inked with Night of Navy, Sahara Sand or Merry Merlot.  Both the Night of Navy and Merry Merlot were stamped off once or twice first to achieve a softer background color. 

The small piece of woodgrain is also from the Beauty of the Earth DSP which provided the perfect frame for the Birthday Wishes sentiment.

• Misty Moonlight - 1-5/8 x 2-3/8

Assembly Tips & Techniques:

• Stamp birdhouse and bird onto cardstock piece.  Dab water painter onto ink pad, lightly color in birdhouse, set aside to dry.  For more defined outline, redraw in lines with Soft Suede marker.
• Ink "speckle" stamp with Night of Navy, stamp off 1-2 times, stamp onto cardstock.  Repeat to fill in as desired.  Repeat steps with Merry Merlot ink and Sahara Sand ink.
• Stamp birthday greeting both in Soft Suede and Merry Merlot.  Cut out Birthday from Merry Merlot and adhere over Soft Suede using mini glue dots.  Trim stamped, layered piece down to 3/4 x 1-1/2.  Adhere to woodgrain DSP piece.
• Assemble pieces onto card base.  Adhere birdhouse feature piece with Stampin' Dimensionals to pop it up.
• Adhere second 4 x 5-1/4 Basic White piece inside card.  Stamp "hope each moment..." onto piece on upper half.  Adhere woodgrain strip near bottom.  Stamp a couple little birds to bring continuity in from front.

Hat's Off Many Hats card

 Greetings!

Do you have those guys in your life that are always available to help out with anything you need - whether it's doing a repair, giving you a ride somewhere, maybe he's a Big Brother, or a mentor?  Whatever the situation is, he's there to help, and it's sometimes hard to find the right card to tell him thanks for all he does.

The Hat's Off bundle has the perfect sentiment and great images to help you make a card that says just what it needs to say!  

 

How adorable are these little hats!?!

This card goes together so easily!  It's a great way to use a few scraps, as the little hats can be cut from a scrap as small as 1" x 1-1/4".  The handsome textile paper from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (DSP) is the perfect background, and the faux suede trim provides a wonderful anchor for the tag.

• Die cut mini hats out of cardstock scraps.  Adhere to Smoky Slate cardstock using mini glue dots.
• Adhere DSP layer to cardstock front.  Adhere Early Espresso and Smoky Slate layers, attach to card front layer.
• Angle cut one end of Faux Suede trim.  Adhere to card front.
• Stamp sentiment onto Smoky Slate.  Cut using tag from Tasteful Labels Dies.  Adhere to trim with mini glue dots.

Sweet Strawberries of Summer

 Greetings!

It's officially the first day of Summer so today's card is celebrating the season.  The Sweet Strawberry stamp set and Strawberry Builder Punch are a wonderful combination to make adorable quick and easy cards with.  The beautiful new Pattern Party HOST Designer Series Paper (DSP) has the perfect paper to compliment the colors of the strawberries.

This stamp set is a two-step stamp which means it has multiple stamps to complete the image.  One stamp is the image fill and is shaded to provide dimension.  The second stamp is an outline with some line detail, so the two stamps together create the complete image.  These stamps are made of photopolymer, which is clear, making it easy to line up the images.

Sweet & Summery

Look how adorable and realistic the strawberries are!  The best part is they are put together so quickly!  The Strawberry Builder Punch punches out the strawberry, the leaf, the stem, and also has a punch for a strawberry blossom.  Punches are so fantastic! Simply stamp the image, line it up in the punch, and voila'! Your card is now ready for assembly.  

Quick Tip: Cut cardstock into strips just a little wider than the piece to be punched.  This eliminates waste when there are multiple items in one punch.

• Stamp strawberry outline and strawberry onto Flirty Flamingo cardstock with Real Red ink. Punch out.
• Stamp leaf outline and stem outline onto Granny Apple Green cardstock with Garden Green ink.  Punch out.
• Adhere DSP strip. Assemble strawberries using mini glue dots, adhere to Basic White layer.  
• Ink sentiment with Flirty Flamingo and stamp.  Adhere sequins.
• Adhere completed white layer onto Granny Apple Green, adhere to card base.

Hat's Off to Your Next Adventure

 Greetings!

With the release of the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog this spring came the versatile new Hat's Off stamp set and Hat Builder Dies.  This set features an adorable large baseball hat!  

 It's perfect for celebrating occasions and adventures for all ages.

This card is loaded with visual texture which is in large part due to the In Good Taste Designer Series Papers (DSP).  Cherry Cobbler cardstock compliments the painted texture paper very well and the hat is cut from the "concrete" paper which gives it a subtle aged look. A little bling and a couple of stars add a celebratory feel, and the ribbon tied in a bow completes the feminine vibe.

The wood background paper is also from the In Good Taste DSP and this card brings in even  more texture with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder.  The stars are a great accent, with two of them  cut from the Crushed Curry layer before it was embossed so the Mossy Meadow layer peaks through.  The detail of the hat stamp along with the stitching from the die gives it such a realistic look!  You feel like you could pull it off the card and put it on your head!

Assembly Tips & Techniques:

• Stamp hat, line up die so lines are showing in openings.  Die cut.
• Stamp and die cut badge.  Adhere to hat.  
• Adhere DSP layer to card base.  With card base folded closed, adhere pop up layer. Top edge of  pop-up layer should measure no more than 5-1/2" from bottom of card base.
• Adhere layer on pop-up, attach hat and stars as shown.  Adhere embellishments.
• **Stamping off is stamping onto scrap or grid-paper first before stamping on to cardstock.  This gives the ink a lighter color.
